Travis Atchison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional. Travis has worked in various community-based settings in which he has served families and couples, addressed issues related to homelessness and crisis, and has worked in various substance abuse settings. Perhaps the most pivotal aspect of his career so far was his role as program director for the Community Assistance and Life Liaison Team in St. Petersburg, Florida. Travis led the team in responding to direct 911 calls involving severe and persistent mental illness, substance abuse, and other non-violent and non-criminal needs within the community. Travis is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology with a specialization in addictions. He is focusing his research on trauma informed care in substance abuse treatment. Outside of the field, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and their golden retriever named Raja. Travis also enjoys going to the beach, fishing, and reading.
