Completing treatment at Guardian Recovery is a tremendous accomplishment. But recovery doesn’t end when your formal program does.

Our Alumni Program ensures that you’re never alone on your recovery journey. Once you complete treatment with Guardian Recovery, you become part of a lifelong community of support, connection, and continued growth.

Recovery is a lifelong journey. So is our commitment to you.

What is the Guardian Recovery Alumni Program?

The Alumni Program is our ongoing support system for anyone who has completed treatment at any Guardian Recovery facility—whether you finished last month or years ago.

Alumni programming includes:

  • Regular alumni meetings and support groups
  • Social events and recovery-focused activities
  • Educational workshops and guest speakers
  • Volunteer and mentorship opportunities
  • Online community and resources
  • Crisis support when you need it
  • A place to celebrate your milestones

You’re not a former client—you’re family.

Why Alumni Support Matters

Research is clear: ongoing support after treatment dramatically improves long-term recovery outcomes.

Alumni programming provides:

Continued Connection: Recovery thrives in community. Stay engaged with others who understand your journey.

Ongoing Accountability: Regular connection with your recovery community helps keep you focused and motivated.

Lifelong Learning: Continue developing recovery skills through workshops and peer support.

Meaningful Friendships: The bonds formed in treatment can last a lifetime through alumni involvement.

Support During Challenges: When life gets difficult, your alumni community is there to help you stay strong.

Opportunities to Give Back: Sharing your experience with others in early recovery strengthens your own sobriety.

Celebration of Milestones: Your sobriety anniversaries matter—we’re here to celebrate them with you.

The types of medication used are determined by our medical team based on the needs of the client. Common medications used for opiate detox are suboxone and clonidine. Alcohol and benzodiazepines are commonly detoxed using librium, gabapentin and baclofen. If you have questions about detox medication please contact our Treatment Advisors.
